about

review by boomkat.com: "Mr. Milstein's tough, uncompromising take on electro mechanisms and electronic twists combine the intricate reaktor constructions of Bitstream with the tough, rugged sound-designed electroid mashups of Berlin's MMM. "Procrastinate" asserts itself as the hardest, most disturbed electro twelve you'll hear this year. The prolonged distorted beat coughs of the opening title track dominates bass and white noise fissures in a way that makes it sound like a decimated 21st century version of Herbie's classic "Rockit" : nasty, brutal, awesome stuff. If you want your electro demented, futuristic, groundbreaking, outright RUDE – don't bother looking any further. Killer."

review by overloadmedia.co.uk: "With the so called Electro 'revival' having long since reached its zenith, the market has been awash with a host of identikit labels all flogging their own brand of sterile 808 clones. Consequently it's not often that you hear something so fresh and as accomplished as this, which does truly sound as if it was made on a different planet to the other music out there. Milstein uses self-generated software from the SuperCollider program and he manages to eke out the most demented and apocalyptic sounds from his machines that will turn your head inside out. The tracks all have real depth, not merely relying on obvious hooks or loops to keep the listener's interest; just as a groove snags you in, it evolves into something else as everything dissolves into a sea of distortion or is swallowed up by a huge barrage of bass and the track hits you from yet another angle. If Autechre made electro for the dancefloor, this is what they would sound like."

review by smallfish records: "Its electro. But its so much more than electro at the same time. Ben Milstein's stuff is quite simply having it and the freshest of beats and sounds are present and correct on this tip top ep. Stunning programming and manipulation combine crispy, crunchy sounds and more traditional electro noises to awesome effect. A killer slice of dancefloor action. Essential."

“Ben Milstein is an electro breaks robot master. My mind was blown wide open and tweaked in many different directions for the entire set. I was subconsciously transplanted with circuitry and turned into a robot.”
